The Dreaded Plateau...
So, I always hate this stage of dieting because it's so disappointing to not lose any weight.
The first couple weeks of this program, it seemed like I was losing a pound a day and I was so excited to reach my weight loss goal. However, to past couple of weeks, it seems like I am just staying the same! I lose a couple ounces, then gain it back the next day. Lose. Gain.
So frustrating! I try switching up my snacks and my workouts, but nothing seems to do it.
Any suggestions?

Movie
Tonight Braedon and I have free passes to a movie premier of Source Code. I don't know much about this movie besides that fact that I get to go for free and I'm excited.
I might just have to take a 10 point snacking penalty and get myself some popcorn. We'll have to see.
I hope you are all doing good! (Sorry to hear about all the sick kicks Kristin!)

Things I am grateful for this week...
My washer and dryer. I can't imagine having sick kids without them. I had my laundry room cleared out 2 days ago. Between washing bedding, rags and clothes I went downstair s this morning and I probably have 10 loads. Sometimes you have to look for the good. I am so grateful for little convieniences. I am also grateful it is spring break this week both my kids missed almost the whole week last week and they would have been missing this week too! kind of a sad spring break ,but at least we don't have to do more make up work! :)

Hello......
It's so nice outside today! I didn't get out of bed early to work out this morning and now I am regretting it! It is going to take all of my will power to get my butt on the treadmill! I am stuck in my house again. My oldest daughter just threw up. Here we go again :(
bad day
bad day yesterday, i am really sick and have a horrible sore throat needless to say i did not get all my water in, it hurt to bad to swallow that much. i also missed out on the exercise, went to bed at 8. i may have to drink warm water today and see if that will be easier to get down. oh well, can only do what i can do right? better luck today!

Monday, monday...
Still somewhat on track. Went out of town over weekend, and went to work early this morning, so feel like monday went fast! Did manage to get my exercise, H2O, and sleep. Happy to start another day.
I am SO thankful for family, love, support, food and work.
I hope you all have a great week!!

Communication Points!!!
I was really tempted to just put the title of this post with nothing in the body of the post, and still counting it as my communication points. But, decided that probably wouldn't work.
Can I just say that working out when you are sick sucks. Freak. I came home early from work today because I was feeling so queasy, but, I have to do my exercise. It was good though. I have to remember that if I truly want it, i'm going to have to work for it.

hello!
sorry i havent posted for a bit, so easy to just call and talk to my family but i do love reading the blog. hanging in there so far. feeling not so good today, massive headache and extremely tired with no energy.
Self-Mastery
So last night after almost caving and not doing a workout I decided I need to be better at Self-Mastery, not only in eating right and working out but in all the other little things that cause me to say in my mind "I really need to work on that" or "I really need to be better at doing this".
So I decided that today was the day to start - I've made some more personal goals that I'm adding to the ones already made for this game and I started working on them today.
First thing - get up when I actually say I'll get up the night before.
It felt good! I'm not a huge morning person (nor am I a huge night person - I'm the rare "afternoon person" ), but having some self-mastery to get up when I really wanted to so that I can work on these goals really felt good.
I'm not sure what exactly made the light-bulb go one, but I'm glad it did - and I hope know that I will keep improving and get better with my goals.
Here's to growing and being in charge of my own self. :)
My computer is back on track and so am I. Neither of us were doing very well last week. (It really does help to be able to access the blog.) I actually didn't even keep track; guess I could go back and figure it out. I did keep up my habits, some exercise etc. so it would be better than nothing. I'm ready to start fresh. I got my healthy breakfast: steel-cut oats, eggs, and grapefruit fresh off the tree and hand-delivered last night from Arizona; and my hour of boot camp at 6 this morning (I am so not a morning person, don't know what I was thinking when I signed up for that!) So here's to a better week.

no worries JRae
I'm a swearing fool. I'm already down 10. I had to take my baby to primary childrens last night for a cat scan because he fell on my treadmill(it was off) and hit his head. So I have had no control of the things coming out of my mouth! He's ok! thank goodness! Can't wait to see that bill:(

:S
I didn't do so well this week... kind of stressful with starting a new job and I wasn't as focused on my habits or water drinking as much. Interestingly enough, eating healthy and exercising has been the easiest part of this game for me!
Well, luckily I have 5 more weeks to make up for it! Hopefully I get better and not worse and the weeks go on.
Good Luck! I'm excited to see the scores tomorrow.

comments
Ok... I don't know what is wrong with me, but I still can't make comments! Or, maybe I'm commenting 8 different times and just can't see them on the blog.
Anyway, I see other people commenting, but I don't know what is wrong with me. I log in to the blog under my gmail account and then try to post comments under my gmail profile and they never show up. I even tried changing the blog settings. No luck!
Anybody have any ideas? I really do check in everyday and try to comment... Hopefully there aren't 8 different iterations of the comments I try to post and I just can't see them for some reason.

Hello
I am so grateful for this game! My husband has been out of town since last Wednesday. He did come home on Sunday night at 8:30 but then left again at 5 on Monday morning. So I am not counting that. My baby got sick the day he left and the sickness has worked it's way through all my kids. My 9 year old is still home from school today! What this means for me? I can't go to the gym my husband is not home to watch my sick kids and I can't take them to the kids club sick. In the past this would have been my free ticket to not excersise. I have a treadmill, weights and videos at home. So because of this game I have excersised at home this week and guess what? it didn't kill me! So thanks for the invite! Instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself all week I have made the best of it. You have no idea how huge that is for me. Thank you! Also, welcome to Mike we need some more bloggers!

HOWDY!
Wow this is my first post ever! Better late than never! So this is me, me is he, he is who is a bit slow at things, especially jumping into a lifestyle change. Your probably thinking this "Mike" kid isn't taking this seriously or that I don't care, but everything I do is taken in stride. I don't care so much for the game aspect as I am more adjusting to change my regular habits and routines for example I am increasingly aware of what I am putting into my body, I am drinking so much more water than before, of course its hard when I go out to the bar and what not to control what I drink. I know what I have to do, its just getting motivated enough to make it happen as well as part of my regular lifestyle. When you go from eating whatever, whenever and having copious amounts of food because you like to try things and when your raised in the restaurant business thats what you tend to do when you go out to eat it makes it just a little more challenging.
So with that, hello to all! This is a glimpse of who I am and I know already that what I have changed so far within these first couple weeks will stay with me for a long time if not forever.
Hugs & Kisses -3
doing good
this has been a much better week so far. this crazy diet has made me feel so good and in control. i am surprised with all the temptations that i have had and been able to say "no" to. i am feeling really tired the last couple of days, so i didnt exercise one day (boy that kills the points!) but i will make it, only two days, i can do it!
Spring
Hello all!
Just thought I'd do some checking in of my own. For some reason the past few days I really have not been wanting to go to the Gym. I think it's the weather that's been playing with us the past week or so. I just want it to stay warm so I can go out hiking!
Come on Spring!
I hope you are all doing well! :)

about portions
This is my problem too! I read in a fitness magazine Quote" make a peace sign with your plate. Your food should form a peace sign, with startches(pasta, rice or potato) and meat composing smaller parts and vegetables and salad the larger ones." Another good rule of thumb, if your meat is larger than a deck of cards it's to much. Pasta, bread and chocolate are the biggest culprits for me. I think we should have all types of food I just need to limit it to 1 Reeses instead of 10. or half of a roll not 2 rolls. Sunday dinner is the worst to much food!!

Portion Control
I had dinner at my mother-in-law's today and found myself eating WAY too much of the yummy food that everyone brought! (Thank goodness for a free meal)
Anyway, I have decided that portion control is the majority of my problem. I don't eat unhealthy foods most of the time, I just eat too much food.
Any good tips or ticks for eating the right portions?

I HATE RUNNING ON A TREADMILL! It was a little to cold to run outside today. So I endured torture on the treadmill. YUCK!

For Points
Just checking in to get my communication points for today!
Good Luck this week, everyone!
Good Luck this week, everyone!
Oh oh, didn't think I could do worse than last week, but I did. I did better on my habits, but missed 4 days of exercise which really zapped me. I'll do better next week and remember that it's helping me be more aware, prepared and responsible. I also hope I'm helping all those who are getting over 1000 but "didn't do very well" feel better. That is still a solid 'A' week! My score was 875.
Scores!
Both Braedon and I had a tough week - we just didn't have the motivation that we normally do. Plus I was in the same boat as Lori - such a wonderful time, eh? (Luckily I was still able to maintain my weight!) Hopefully we can get back on track this week!
Katie: 1035
Braedon: 1020

Better than last week but this week what I struggled with most was keeping the clothes off the floor :(....sounds simple but I have a hard time once clothes are washed to fold and put away and with myself and Summit being so sick this week there were a couple times I just went to bed instead of folding and putting the clothes away. So that's where I lost my points.... Here's to a new week and HOPEFULLY healthy kids.
Mistake!!
Jenirae brought a mistake on the score sheets to my attention - on time reporting is only worth 5 points each week. This is written correctly on the blog as well as the 1st week's score sheet - but is written as 10 points on the remaining weeks score sheets. Please remember that it is only worth 5 points! Sorry about that!
Scores to come.
Scores to come.

well a little better then last week. next week i am shooting for perfect. i started my 17 day diet yesterday and i was so proud of myself we had to go to hoppers for my mother in laws birthday dinner and all i got was a grilled chicken breast and steamed veggies. not even one bite of their delicious hot bread or a fry off my daughters plate. i was so proud of myself. if i can stick to this diet exactly i will finally have a perfect score next week. weight loss was only .2 (lovely monthly!) Hey I can't complain, I usually gain this time of the month so hopefully that means i really had a better loss. hope everyone does well today.. have a great weekend!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!
Another week down, and it has been a better week than last.
I have to thank all those great ideas for healthy snacks. It has helped
me so much find good things to snack on other than sweets and chocolate.
Its been fun planning our green dinner this week. We have found a lot of green,
healthy foods to eat, and thanks to Ashley being so creative & fixing dinners
it has been easy for me to eat better. Ashley is a great cook!
Sorry Ashley, I will try and get better and helping with
dinners, planning and preparing, but thank you for all your hard work at helping
me stay on track!!
I have to work all day tomorrow, so I am posting my score early for the week
Score= 1040
better than last week, but I can do better!!

Happy St. Patty's
Thought since the kids weren't needing every second of my attention at the moment that I'd post something. Katie I totally agree with the sweets thing. Why can't we just crave all the healthy stuff? ;) I haven't had much luck this week with the weight loss...I've lost maybe a pound but I have noticed everything tightening up a little...especially though my shoulders and back, if only I could notice the tightening in the abdominal area more ;)... hopefully soon. It's a step in the right direction though.
Good work everyone! Hope you all have a happy healthy St. Patrick's day!

Gay mom Blog What?
My husband feels the same way ,but at least it keeps some accountability in my life! Ha! Happy St. Paticks to you!!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day
So this morning my husband asked me what I was doing; "posting on my blog," I answered. "What blog?" "The Game On Blog" "What??" "You know that thing I'm doing with Lori." Then he had one last question, "Why are you posting on a 'Gay Mom' Blog!"

Tough day
My husband is leaving town tommorrow again.... He has been gone most of the month and I'm ready to pull my hair out. I feel a sense of entitlement when he's gone this is my inner monolouge."I deserve to eat out tonight the kids don't eat when I cook anyway". Then it's 5 days and thousands of calories later and I'm beating myself up! I've got to accept the reality of things. My husband is gone at least 50% of the time every month this month it has been about 80%. And eating everything in sight is not going to change that!
Sweets
I love hearing how everyone is doing - their struggles and successes, it helps me keep fighting the fight. My fight is with sweets. I love candy so much! I also love cookies, desserts, ice cream, etc. But I know it's better for me to not eat so much sugar so I'm glad this game is helping me control my sugar intake.
But I still think I will forever pine after sour watermelons, gummy bears, fruit rolls, laffy taffy, smarties, and all the other wonderful things you find in the candy isle. ;)

Sick
It's been a rough few days, I haven't had much computer time because I've been taking care of myself and baby boy who have been sick. I've surprisingly still been able to maintain working out, etc but just haven't had time to get on the blog. Here's to hoping that we can get feeling better soon. Just grateful for husbands who take time off of working and studying to take care of us. But nice job Kristin for staying on top of the blog ;)....

Finally
Wow I am finally able to post something. I've tried comments etc. and been very frustrated since it was not working for me. So I am very happy to keep Kristen company on here. I had a rough start and have been out of town more than home, but hopefully can get going a little stronger now. I'm impressed with the weight losses you all are posting and the all the near perfect scores (and the 8 miles). I better up my game, some tough competition here. (I did remember my seat best every time today!)
It's a food world.
It's amazing how much time you have for other things when your world doesn't revolve around food!
The only thing I used to really look forward to during the day was eating. I would sit there at work and think about what I was going to have for lunch, and then come home and think about what I was going to have for dinner.
Well, it's amazing how much you can get done when you're using your brain for thinking about more than just food! I've read 2 books and written 30 pages of a screenplay in the last week and a half. :D
Has anyone else had this experience the last week?

hi kristin!
Sorry you have been the only one on lately. unfortunately because 6 of us are family we talk to each other all the time so we dont need to blog. i still get on and read all the time though. i have no idea where the other gamers are though. glad you are becoming aware of your habits. i am so proud that you chose such a hard habit to change even though you knew it would make you loose points. that is such a great habit to change. hope you have a great week. i know jenell chose a really hard habit also (hooking her seat belt) and sadly that happens numerous times a day so that is why her score is so low also because if she forgets 10 times a day that is a huge deduction. i am proud of her also because that is a very important habit. we will both be better because of your choices. lets have a great week!
To Kristen
Hey.... great job on your blogging!!!! It looks like you have been a bit lonely on the blog. Hope you have a great non-cussing week. You can do it!
Self control
It's amazing how many things I say and do without thinking! I am now very aware of how much I swear. It's getting better ,but I've had to catch myself on numerous occasions.

jenells score 910
Jenell called me and asked me to post her score for her. she has been out of town.
Week 1
Wow, like a lot of you it has been a hard week, but I think the first week can be sometimes the hardest.
I had a bad tooth problem this week, and after 3 dentist appointments, 7 shots in the mouth, 2 nights of not being able to sleep due to severe pain, 2 bridges put on, and 1 root canal, I finally am feeling better!!
My score for this week is 1000 also lori. Good job to the rest of you, and lets make this next week even better. I am down 2 lbs ;( but at least I'm down right?

Week 1 = 1065!
I will have you know that this week's perfect score in no way reflects my usual willpower when it comes to dieting and exercise. (I would like everyone to know that there is a can of coke in the fridge that remains unopened... that is a big deal for me!)
It was a pretty laid back week, so I was able to focus a lot on exercising and eating right. Hopefully I can keep it up next week and the 6 weeks after that!
I'm down 5 pounds!

I'm down 5 pounds!
I didn't do so well...
Wow! You guys are all so good!! I swear having three little kids makes this a little harder ;). It's ok...Next week is a new week and I'm ready to do better. I'm so upset...I usually have no problem doing my workouts, but yesterday was crazy (Dr appointments, play group, making dinner for neighbor all on top of regular motherly activities) and on top of that at 7:30 I started to feel crummy.... I guess I finally caught this nasty head cold :(...so by the time I could actually workout it was 9:30 and I was DEAD! So I missed 30 points for that.... Bringing my total to only 1010! The first day was super hard to drink my water so -15 for that and stupid snacking! Oh well...Bring on a new week. Great Job to everyone else though!!!
score 1000
Wow, I sure hope I can do better next week. It was a tough week. I had to work 42 hours and had a funeral, play, movie, jury duty, etc. etc. etc. Crazy week. I am down 5.4 lbs though so that is awesome! It can only get better right :)
Score 1035
-30 for swearing. HOW DUMB IS THAT! on the bright side I lost 6 lbs. So if I can keep my potty mouth under control maybe I can be perfect next week:)
Score Time
This week was good. Hard at times, but good. I was on a sugar crave all week - and actually caved yesterday when my work gave out free fresh Krispey Kreme donuts (drool). So I lost ten points. But besides that I did pretty well! My score is 1055.
Also - Way to be Jodi (and yes you did add right).
Here's to another week! Bring it on!
Woo Hoo!
Welp, I didn't loose as much weight as I would have liked in the first week of the game. But it was a hard week. I don't know what my deal was, but I wanted to eat every piece of chocolate there was. Good thing for my 100 calorie snacks.
Well, my score this week was 1055. And I lost 7 pounds. Not bad, could be better on the weight loss. But I am still super grateful for what I did loose! Lets hope that I can at least loose half of that next week. Last time I did this game, I think I actually gained my second week. Eeek.

Yeah to week 1
I usually have struggled with this game but i was so ready to start it did not seem so hard this week. I got my total points which i think is 1065 if i added right and not only that, all it took was one week to get myself out of a funk that i have been in for the entire 3 winter months. I hope i can keep up the momentum!

Pictures
I never realize how large I've gotten until I see myself in a picture. I'm so glad we started this game this week because when I saw my lovely picture today I was able to say it's o.k. I'm doing something about it! I think I tend to be in denial most of the time. I'm not to far gone and the scary part is if your not careful it can always get worse. Has anyone been watching the Biggest Loser? They had a 600lb contestant this year. Why is it so easy to gain weight and so hard to lose it?
Blog issues
Ok, I don't know if anyone else has been having this problem, but every time I try to comment on someone's post, it doesn't end up showing up on the blog :S
Am I doing something wrong?
Am I doing something wrong?
struggling!
boy i am struggling this week, i keep snacking! i am just hungry and nothing sounds good but junk. hopefully my attitude will change this next week :(

Swear words
I made it through yesterday without swearing and then this morning my 9 year old was an absolute pill. I was referring to having to wake her up for junior high. Right now she doesn't go to school till 8:45 and we struggle. So without even thinking I said to my husband. Getting her up for junior high is going to be pure **** . There is no other way to describe it -10 again. Somebody shoot me!
I just have one question...
Does shoveling 800 lbs of snow from last night's storm off your driveway count as 20 minutes of exercise?... It should!

Something to think about
Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.
Ok.... so the other day i went with a friend that is training for a 15 mile run in 3 weeks. We went to antelope island to train. You must know that i have barely done any exercise in 3 months, have gained 12 pounds and now have asthma attacks regularly. When this friend asked me to go with her to do an 8 mile run/walk/jog, being the crazy person that i am, i actually said yes knowing i might die. She claimed she was out of shape also, and that i would keep up just fine. You do the calculations...... 8 miles in 2 hours 20 min. No running. More walking and jogging that was probably not much quicker than our walking pace. This is all my friend could do and i learned a great lesson. 8 miles came and went. No asthma due to not overexerting my lungs, and now i have no fear doing 10 miles with her on Sat. It's amazing what our weak and out of shape bodies can do when we slow down and enjoy the journey.
As i start this journey (again) i have already realized that it is not the speed at which you go, it is how long you can keep the momentum.

Gym
So in preparation of starting this Game Braedon and I set up a membership at Golds Gym through Braedon's work. I honestly wasn't looking forward to being a Gym Member. I haven't been to an actual gym since my sophomore year of high school - choosing instead to do at home things such as P90X or the treadmill. Well then came Friday, day one of the game, where Braedon and I took our first trip to our local Golds Gym. All my fears/annoyances/notwantingtogotothegym feelings bubbled up as I felt that everyone was looking at the very scrawny/non-athletic white girl (our gym just so happens to be in West Valley where white is definitely the minority) that didn't belong in such a place. We then proceeded to do our workout. Some time on the treadmill, time on the bike, and a few weights lifted later we were done with our workout - and you know what? It felt good!
We have now been everyday since (besides Sunday) and all my ill conceived notions about gyms have been put to rest. I actually enjoy it now. Yes there are still some times when Braedon will have to nudge me to actually go to the gym, but once I'm there I work harder then I would at home, maybe that's just my competitive side coming out (how dare the girl next to me run faster then I am, I'll show her!).
I'm glad this Game pushed me and Braedon to get gym memberships and even better I'm glad it pushes us to actually go and use the membership.
Anywho, my arms are tired and so are my legs, time to take a shower and snuggle to a good movie - I actually feel like I deserve it. :)
Night all!

Free day already?
I know it's dumb ,but about 3 weeks ago I traded a whole saturday off to my husband in exchange for a trip to the NCAA basketball tournament with his dad! LAME I should have asked for the whole weekend! So of course I overdid BLAH!
I am the lamest pea brained idiot in the entire planet when it comes to computers
So........ i am trying to put in my goals and can not find my name off to the right like it says to. My new goal is to not say negative things about myself (just looking at my title, i hope you know i am joking)
Really.... my new goal is to drink a full glass of water before breakfast and my bad habit goal is to kiss and hug every member of my family daily and tell them how much i love them
So now.......... if there are any non lame, non pea brained idiots (which i'm sure are all of you) that would like to help a sista out. Please help me add these goals in the correct and proper place before i screw up the entire blog and rearrange what should not be rearranged, i would love you dearly!!!
Glad to be back on track!

The Beginning
So...Can i say how much i love and hate beginnings. But, it will be worth it. Already i'm looking at all of the wonderful, delicious, and fatty foods that I absolutely love that I want to eat. But then, I have to remind myself how much better I feel when I don't eat them. Plus, I get my 100 calorie snack. Plus my meals off. All in all, i'm excited to be starting again. Day one was not as bad as I had thought it would be.
Ready to Rock! ;)
I have to say I am super excited about doing this. I have needed that extra push to eat healthy. With three kids who are pretty picky eaters sometimes it's just easier to eat what they will eat, which usually isn't the most healthy choice. I don't know about you guys but I'm always looking for new ideas to try. So I just thought I'd post some of my favorite things....
Nutrition info:
I get them from Target and while they are a little pricey they are SO YUMMY!!
To satisfy the chocolate cravings I find that a few of these will hit the spot and since they are dark chocolate and have fiber from the raisins, they are healthy....just don't over do it! There is also Dark Chocolate covered plums at Walmart that are SOOO good!!
Then there is my new favorite breakfast.... A cup of this...
Nutrition info:
These are Just a few of my favorite things.
For dinner my favorite thing lately is Steak fajitas. I just buy some sirloin and cut it into strips. Before I do that I put onion, red and yellow peppers and garlic in a frying pan with some EVOO for a few minutes then set them aside while I cook the meat. I marinate the meat in Lime juice, cilantro, jalepeno, and more garlic, and EVOO (I've only marinated for 30 minutes and it is still so yummy!) I think they are good without sour cream, cheese, or salsa on a tortilla. So yummy!!
I hope you guys find these helpful. I always enjoy hearing what people make that is healthy.
I LOVE these for a quick on the go snack....

And it Begins.
We have finally started! Yay! I honestly already feel a difference - if nothing else but in my way of thinking. I am large and in charge (too cheesy?). ;)
Also another reminder for those that still haven't put in their goals on the blog to make sure and do so today! And also to make sure that it is a daily habit that is easy to monitor or measure.
Good luck everyone!

Ready, Set, GO!!
Yay, here we go again! I am excited and ready to get started tomorrow.
Good luck to us all, and let's pat ourselves on the back for doing something
for ourselves.

My Vote
I think that having a first and second place winner would be good.
Ditto to the fact that doing this is the most important thing to me,
getting rid of bad habits, and gaining new good habits to feel better
and losing weight will be the reward for me!!

My Vote.
My vote for the winnings would be to have two winners. 1st place get most of the pot while second place gets the reminder. But I agree with Lori that I'm not too picky. :)
my vote
my vote for the winnings is 2 places. but i am really ok with any decision because i feel that we will all be winners if we gain new habits, get healthy and lose weight :)
Tying up Loose Ends
Okay all - we are starting this Game for reals tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to getting back some control on what I'm doing with my body.
Just a few last things I feel needs to be discussed before the starting day tomorrow.
1. 25 dollars - just a reminder that everyone will need to put in 25 dollars at the beginning of the game (I realize it's hard to see some people often, but just as soon as possible). Lori Goudie will be keeping track of the money - don't worry, she's trustworthy. ;)
2. Winnings - this brings us to our next topic of business which is the winning pot. We've had it suggested by a few people that it might be nice to have a second (and possibly third?) place winner. What do you all think? I feel this should be something that is voted on, not just decided by me. So here are our options:
a. Winner Takes All. One winner gets all the pot (10 people = 250 dollars)
b. 2 Winners. 1st would get 200 and 2nd place would get 50 (or something similar)
c. 3 Winners. 1st would get 150, 2nd 75, and 3rd 25. (Again numbers could be different)
Post your vote on the blog and we'll decide officially what we want to do with the winnings. :)
3. Weighing In - In order to make sure that the final weight bonus points are accurate we will need to all weigh in at the beginning of the game (this week) and at the end of the eight weeks. Since we are all a little all over the place and may not know each other, we thought it would be easiest to just weigh-in in front of at least one other player to vouch for your weight. Also it would be best to make sure you use the same scale at the beginning of the game as well as at the end of the game to keep numbers more accurate. This of course applies only to those that haven't already weighted in front of Lori. :)
Welp, I think thats it.
Don't forget to post your vote on the winnings - if no one puts in their vote I'll just decide on my own. ;)
Healthy Meals/Healthy Snacks
I've had a few people ask me about the phrase 'Healthy Meals' or 'Healthy Snacks', so I thought I would post on the blog for everyone just to some what clarify what those phrases means exactly.
While we don't want to put huge restrictions on what people eat (thats one of the advantages of this game is being able to feel what your body needs and eat accordingly), there are of course guide lines that can help you eat healther. For example - having balance in a snack or meal. Try to have some protein or fiber (or both!) in a snack. Try and have at least a veggie or fruit with each meal (as well as a protien, carb, and a fat).
Baked chips would not be considered a healthy snack - but a handful of nuts and some carrots would. Just an apple on it's own would not be considered a healthy snack, but throw in some string cheese and you've got one.
As for meals, again try and throw in some veggies or fruit to the mix, keep calories down - but make sure and get enough, don't eat a lot of starchy, fried, or super sugary things and of course always remember portion control.
Hopefully this helps people understand what Healthy Meals and Healthy Snacks are.
:)
hello!

Updating Habit's
Hello again!
I believe I have now sent you all an invite to your Email address. Once you have accepted the invite (and possibly made an account and password) you should be able to post things to the blog. As soon as you accept the invite I will go in and give you admin rights so you can go and edit your habits page and put in what your New Habit and Old Habit are for the game. You will have until Friday to change these if you decide to.
To edit your habits just click on your name on the right and then you should see a little pencil at the bottom of the page that when you put your mouse over it it says 'Edit', click on this and type in your goals and then click publish page.
If you'd rather not deal with this I can put in your goals for you - just Email them to me at katie.goudie at gmail.com.
Let me know if you run into any problems!
